This is the same as the AH009P Marlin but with no paint or decals applied. Customize it the way you want!
Something different! The Arrows Marlin 64mm EDF is an ALL NEW design with the beginner to intermediate pilot in mind. This plane has a more robust fixed landing gear than most, to handle bumpy landings. More importantly it is the only plane in its class to have flaps to shorten takeoff, and to make approaches and landings more like those of a high wing trainer. The 3150kV motor combined with a 40 Amp ESC, and a powerful 64mm 11 blade EDF, ensure plenty of power for takeoff and maneuvers. The fan sounds like a real turbine.
This plane basically has eight screws and some servo connections to complete assembly. No glue is necessary, and because we use 8 servos we are not running a lot of control rods around. Even the nose wheel has it's own servo. Flap and aileron connections are made with ball linkages, for greater strength at higher speeds. A latch type canopy makes in flight canopy loss a thing of the past.
If you are looking for a first EDF to try, or are looking to move up to a EDF without spending a bundle, this plane is for you.
Wanted a nice jet to try that wasn’t crazy costly nor requiring purchase of more batteries. This fit perfectly, 4s2200 I have a bunch. Purchased unpainted, blue hard for me to see so planed on painting in red scheme. Found it’s very close to US Navy t45 so used that as reference and created my own decals with wife’s cricut machine on simple label paper and ink jet printer. Came out nice, flys very solid on my Spektrum setup with ar637t. Did not find any real flaws, quality good, shipping fast so overall great purchase experience.
Very durable easy to fly high speed low speed this is a beginner EDF..... well done Horizon Hobby. Extremely forgiving and durable.... I've corkscrewed in at speed and it's a little hot glue and some patients it was back together and flying within an hour.
...I bought another! Plain model no decals. First Marlin about to be retired and will be used for parts. This is a great first EDF. Buy one, you won't regret it.
The Marlin was recommended to me and is sorta advertised as a first jet and for me it was. It is an awesome little plane with great looks especially if you do it up in something other than the stock white/blue. It's flight envelope is wide ranging , the fan unit sounds great and a wide range of batteries, up to a 3500, will fit without much change in performance. I use a 3k and a fellow club member uses 3.5K. It's also quite durable which brings me to why I gave it a 4 on fun factor. As I said I am not a jet master so my landings have been less than perfect, way less. I am sure that the "fun factor" will jump to a 5 once landings are mastered. In summary, I really like it.
Its so great that they offered an unadulterated version, allowing complete personalization without the hours of work removing decals and covering old paint schemes. The plane comes with a full decal sheet so you can apply whichever ones you like, and there are a lot, of stick-on not waterslide.
Once I opened box could tell this is going to be a good first jet not that its my first will be 4th in line. Over all good buy. Quality seems good value is about average considering you can purchase bind and fly with gyro and retracts for less than it would cost to install in this plane but feel this plane will be more forgiving. Definitely would recommend this to my fellow club members.
