    Introduction

NEW MOVES FROM AN OLD FAVORITE

Introduced as a ParkZone® model more than a decade ago, the T-28 Trojan 1.1m quickly became a favorite of low-time to experienced pilots alike! It had the scale looks of the North American Aviation T-28 Trojan used as a trainer by the Navy from 1952 to 1984, yet flew better than most sport RC models because of its incredible handling with no bad habits. The model's simplicity, durability, and easy handling made it especially popular with low-time pilots moving up to their first sport, low wing or warbird model after mastering a trainer. Plus, the convenient size allowed it to be flown at large parks and sports fields and transported easily without disassembly. Now the T-28 has been updated and upgraded to be more powerful, more capable, and more fun to fly than ever before! Stronger and reinforced parts combine with the more powerful 3S and 4S compatible power system featuring a telemetry-capable ESC to deliver higher speeds and higher energy aerobatic performance — while offering the same slow and scale-like, sport flying and easy handling capabilities the original was always known for.

    Features

    • Updated and upgraded to offer improved scale-like and sport flying, higher speed and higher energy aerobatic capabilities
    • Easy to take off, fly and land, making it a perfect "next step" after a trainer, an excellent first scale or low-wing model
    • Specially tuned motor compatible with 3S and 4S batteries without the need for modifications or upgrades
    • Popular 3S and 4S 1800–2200mAh batteries deliver excellent performance and flight times
    • 30A telemetry-capable ESC provides real-time battery voltage, current, motor RPM and other data (via compatible receivers and transmitters)
    • Spektrumâ„¢ AR631 receiver with fly-by range telemetry and industry-leading DSMX® technology
    • Easy to fly with innovative and optional-use SAFE® Select flight envelope protection
    • The unmatched stability and locked-in feel of exclusive AS3X® technology
    • 4-channel control with four (4) factory-installed servos and linkages for full aerobatic capability
    • Stronger motor mount, nose gear steering arm, and wing spar for added reinforcement
    • Lightweight yet durable composite-reinforced EPO construction
    • Factory-finished in a fully-painted, high-visibility trim scheme
    • Fast and easy assembly – no glue required

    Overview

A T-28 AT THE TOP OF ITS CLASS

Updated and upgraded, including a fully-painted, high-visibility trim scheme, the E-flite® T-28 Trojan 1.1m reaffirms its status as an excellent "next step" model for low-time pilots who have mastered a trainer and are looking for their first low-wing, sport or warbird model — while expanding its performance for experienced pilots with higher speed and higher energy aerobatic capabilities! With a common 3S 1800–2200mAh LiPo battery, the brushless power system featuring a specially-tuned motor delivers plenty of thrust and speed for low-time to intermediate pilots. Or, install a 4S battery for more speed and unlimited vertical performance without modifications or upgrades! Four servos and linkages are factory-installed for full aerobatic capability to perform loops, rolls, knife-edge, inverted flying, and more. The composite-reinforced EPO airframe includes stronger parts to handle the higher speeds and additional aerobatic capabilities, and for improved durability overall. Final assembly is fast and easy, no glue required, and the T-28 fits into almost any vehicle fully assembled — or the wing can be removed for even easier transport and storage. Any traditional RC flying field with paved, dirt or grass surfaces makes a suitable flying site, although skilled pilots can fly in smaller areas such as large parks or sports fields. The T-28 is inherently stable like the full-scale trainer platform, but the BNF® Basic version, featuring a Spektrum™ AR631 receiver, gives low-time and intermediate pilots the added benefits of exclusive AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select stabilization technologies. Best of all the ESC included with both versions is telemetry-capable to deliver real-time battery voltage, current, motor RPM, and other data via compatible receivers (including the AR631 included with the BNF Basic version) and Spektrum™ AirWare™ equipped transmitters. And it all adds up to offer improved scale-like and sport flying, higher speed and higher energy aerobatic capabilities to deliver a sport scale flying experience you simply can't get anywhere else!

    Video Overview

    More Capable

The lightweight yet durable composite-reinforced EPO airframe has been updated to handle more power, higher speeds and higher energy aerobatics. A stronger motor mount and nose gear steering arm, plus a new spar to better reinforce the wing, combine to make the T-28 Trojan 1.1m more capable than ever before.

    More Powerful

The factory-installed brushless power system features a 30-amp telemetry-capable ESC plus a specially-tuned motor to deliver an abundance of thrust with a 3S LiPo battery, or more speed and unlimited vertical performance with a 4S battery without the need for any modifications or upgrades.

    Telemetry Capable

The T-28 Trojan 1.1m is equipped with an ESC that can provide a variety of real-time power system related telemetry data including motor RPM, current, battery voltage and more via compatible receivers (including the AR631 installed in the BNF® Basic version) and Spektrum™ AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, the NX6, 8 and 10, the iX12, iX20 and others) while you fly.

    Easy Assembly

No glue is required for final assembly, and you can have the T-28 Trojan 1.1m ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery! And although it's conveniently sized to fit fully assembled in just about any vehicle, you can also remove the wing for even easier storage and transport.

    Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage

Already own a Spektrumâ„¢ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!

This Bind-N-Fly Basic model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX® receiver featuring AS3X (Artificial Stabilization–3-aXis) technology that works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence. The result is a heightened sense of stability and precision that makes you feel like you're flying a much larger, expertly tuned aircraft.

If this is your first model of its type, or you want an extra margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the airplane, you can enable the optional-use SAFE® Select flight envelope protection technology built into the receiver. No programming is required. Simply change up the binding sequence as directed in the manual.

With SAFE Select enabled, you get:

    Pitch and Bank Angle Limits

    • These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.

    Automatic Self-Leveling

    • The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the center position. It's also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.

Easy Switch Assignment—No Complex Programming Required

    • The simple procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off doesn't require any complex programming and takes just a few seconds.

If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, just bind the receiver normally and it will function like a standard AS3X receiver.

The Trojan was my second plane after learning how to fly. I love the simplicity of it. No worry about the gear. Colors great so you can see it in the sky easier. Plus hobbyzone is a great place to buy from. Dan and the guys are fantastic.

It took me a few flights to figure out how to balance this airplane, I started flying tailheavy and was not able to trim it , so after watching some videos I did a manual adjustment on the Elevator giving it a good bit of down ,Flys on rails now very fast on 4s and very fun, I would have given it 5 stars but I had some shipping damage on the wing and the rear elevator tore apart and had to retape it, I suggest mabey nylon hinges as it's pretty weak back there, overall I love it flys great!

Nice plane.  Seemed very well made. Was easy to assemble. Most difficult task during assembly was the nose gear. Make sure you insert the top of the nose gear strut so it just touches the upper portion of the firewall.  Be cautious with paint finish.  Finish was easily removed by tape. You need to use the batteries specified to fit mounting. After mechanical trimming for first flight, additional trimming of elevator to give it more down was necessary. Aircraft  flys well . It flys well slow. Like having the telemetry.

The Eflite T-28, after 10+flights is super fun and an easy plane to manage. Hard to improve upon the original Parkzone T-28. Truly deserves the 5-star rating. Happy that they kept the same general features/construction. Good to have the ability to run a 4 cell (goes like a bat...) in addition to the 3 cell. Looking forward to many more flights! The added plus is dealing with Dan and his staff at Hobbyzone. They are the best!!

If you owned an original  Parkzone T-28 . You will want this one too. The upgrades make this “Icon” even better.  It is a perfect low wing trainer with Warbird style.  The  SAFE select and AS3X keeps the drama low .  It’s perfect for touch and go practice and more than capable aerobatic maneuvers , even on a 3 cell pack. If you prefer 4 cells you ain’t hurting anything.

Such a fun plane that cuts through the air.   It’s constantly windy here in NM and the plane handles the 10-20mph wind pretty well.

I’m a new pilot this year and this is my second plane. I enjoy flying the T28 even more than my Aeroscout trainer. It’s so smooth and I was able to land it the first time out. The yellow color makes it easy to see. I could see it being used as your first plane as it is that easy to fly!

Small size. Very good performance even in windy conditions. I installed larger wheels as I often fly off grass. Usually fly with 4s2000-50 C battery. Modified battery bay. My new "go to" plane.

    T-28 gen 2

    Appearance

This is E-Flite's T-28 gen 2 version in Yellow.
It is very much like the White, gen 1, version but with an upgraded AS3X/SAFE Receiver and motor.
It has a slight flaw that I can't figure why, as the model appears identical to the earlier version, but there is a work around. It deals with using a 3S-3200mah battery. With this battery inserted as far forward as possible the T-28 is tail heavy. It can be flown with some nose down trim but this makes it twitchy in pitch. It can be flown with added lead weight, but why..? The work around is to remove some battery compartment foam from the forward end. Cut out enough so that the battery can slide forward until it contacts a built in plastic brace piece the factory has installed. That allows the 3S battery to slide more forward about 1". In that position the T-28 balances perfect and is steady in pitch.

Eflites T28 1.1 meter is an awesome aircraft. Sadly the wheels are too small to fly off of grass but you can’t have everything. The T28 is stable at slow speeds handles well at high speeds and takes of fast. See my maiden flights at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRz3-aKQXIA
