  • Trekker 1200mm RTF with Vector Flight Stabilization System

Built with ultralight EPO foam, the large wing area, high-winged airframe configuration gives the Trekker low wing-loading and extraordinary amounts of lift, even at slow speeds. The use of the tricycle-geared layout helps to have a better rolling directionality. The main landing gear is made of durable aluminum plates, with large spans on both sides and flat arcs, which can effectively absorb the impact of heavy landing. Furthermore, optional floats add to the all-terrain fun of the Trekker.

A large size at an Affordable price!! 1st of all I am very impressed with the size of this aircraft!!

But it doesn't stop there....this plane is very well built and durable, well beyond my expectations, the power this aircraft has is a perfect blend of finesse and show boating. Plenty of power to impress with a 1200mm aircraft,I mean come on why does it need more,it's not a real passenger aircraft pulling evasive maneuvers, so what's the point. It has plenty of power to climb quickly, roll, and pull loops like it was born doing them. And on the finesse side, the aircraft is so forgiving, flies truly amazing even in surprisingly higher wind speeds. And if you are Brand New really as I am,vyou can bounce it pretty good on landings and it just sets back on all three and takes right back off. The only other RC airplane I have ever owned is a 390mm p-38 lightning 2channel that cost $56. I love P-38's and even though it was just what it was....it's what gave me the love and want for this new past time of mine, it got me hooked. So you can imagine this is my 2nd airplane or rc of any kind. So,it's huge difference from what I had and as I'm sure you know, this aircraft is taking some lickings, but keeps going and it just loves to fly.

THANK YOU HOBBY ZONE and my FORKED TAIL DEVIL for giving me this new found fun in life!!

I would love to see a P-38 Lightning of this size, caliber, and price in the Warbirds section!!! I would Definitely be your 1st order for it.

Came as a RTF and later charged to a AR620 receiver. Arrows planes have good fits with parts. Had a little with the two piece fuselage, but opened up the holes in just the foam with a drill bit. NO PROBLEM! Flys GREAT!

It’s a great trainer and peppy sport plane. Perfect power and good run times on the supplied 1300 mah battery. The manual shows how to mechanically adjust the control throws for your desired performance. The Vector gyro and radio continues to impress me and others at the field- simple and effective . I have never been disappointed with any Arrows RC product.

Trekker 1200mm RTF - Better than expected

I took the Trekker out with my 12 year old son whose just learning to fly. He flew a battery's worth (maybe a dozen 30 - 60 second flights) simple takeoffs, a lap or two, and landings on a baseball field, near our house. The plane took some pretty hard landings, a couple of nose-overs, and a cartwheel or two. Due to the durability of the plane, we're only missing a nickle sized bite out off the trailing tip of the right wing, and a pretty bent-up front landing gear. Not too bad for our first maiden. Unfortunately, the front landing gear is not in stock, so we'll have to wait a bit for the next outting.

Plane was pretty easy to assemble. I had to drill out a few of the screw holes to line up better but overall was easy. The plane was for my 11 year old son and he was able to fly it the first time with relative ease. Order some spare propellers and front landing gear with the plane. I broke the first prop and bent the front landing gear during a very rough landing. My first time to fly anything. I highly recommend this plane for a first plane, very durable and easy to fly. The hobby shop I ordered from has been extremely helpful with all my questions.

Shipping was super fast, great build quality. Powerful motor. We  didn’t get chance to fly the plane since the propeller was damaged due to wrong operation! Hopefully we can easily control it.

    Nice plane, lousy radio.

    Appearance

I bought this item to use as a basic trainer, to provide flying instruction for new members of our local R/C model airplane club.

The airplane looks good and flies nice, has enough oomph to easily take off from our grass field, and is stable in the air. However, the supplied Tx/Rx (Arrows AR-06) is unsuitable for that purpose since the Tx/Rx are not compatible with any other radios, like Spektrum or Futaba. There is no provision on the Tx for a buddy box cord. There is nothing in the on-line description of the product to indicate that the radio gear is not compatible with other systems. Also, even with brand new fresh batteries in the Tx, the "low battery" alarm kept chirruping. So, I ditched the radio and installed a Spektrum 4 channel Rx. Also, I trashed the "safe" module that came with the set. IMHO, and in the opinion of all other club members who train new pilots, these "safe" modules give a newbie a false sense of their piloting skills and, actually make it more difficult for a new pilot to learn how to properly and safely fly their airplane. I also installed larger wheels to make takeoffs easier from our grass field. The manual recommends a 1300 mah/3 cell battery (one of which, with a charging module, was supplied with the set) but that only gives 4 or 5 minutes of flying time. There is enough room in the battery compartment for a 2200 mah battery which gives about 7 minutes flying time. I'm about to try a 3000 mah battery to see if I can get a 10 minute flight which I consider optimum for training a new pilot. The airplane should be able to handle the weight of batteries larger than the recommended 1300 mah battery. One more gripe: there is not enough cooling air flowing over the battery; the air vents in the cowling direct incoming air through the space below the battery compartment; after a 6-7 minute flight, the 2200 mah battery is almost too hot to handle. Clearly, there is not enough cooling air flowing over the battery with the way this airplane was designed. I plan to install a baffle to direct cooling air through the battery compartment. So, if you are willing to spend the extra bucks and the extra time and effort to deal with radio problems and design flaws, go for it. Otherwise, pass this one by and look for something else.
