  • A-10 Thunderbolt II 64mm EDF BNF Basic AS3X w/SAFE

The E-flite A-10 Thunderbolt II Twin 64mm EDF is a replica of the U.S. Air Force's primary Close Air Support aircraft. It's the highest-performance hog model yet, and is also the easiest to fly when equipped with available SAFE Select technology!

As the primary Close Air Support aircraft of the U.S. Air Force, the A-10 Thunderbolt II is often affectionately called the "Warthog" due to its aggressive look, and because it's a highly accurate and survivable weapons-delivery platform. The nose — often decorated with painted teeth — is equipped with a GAU-8 Avenger 30mm gatling gun that unleashes the destructive bite of armor-piercing incendiary rounds. The E-flite® A-10 Thunderbolt II Twin 64mm EDF is a scale replica of the iconic aircraft that served with distinction in operations Desert Storm, Desert Fox, Enduring Freedom and others. It delivers excellent top speed and unlimited vertical performance, while also featuring fantastic handling and being the easiest to fly hog yet when it's equipped with exclusive Spektrum™ AS3X® and SAFE® Select technologies (BNF® Basic version only).

Featuring an all-new design, the E-flite® A-10 Thunderbolt II Twin 64mm EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) jet is the highest-performance and best-handling model of the popular U.S. Air Force aircraft yet. Its twin 11-blade, 64mm fans are powered by high-RPM brushless motors that are paired with 40A ESCs wired to use a single 6S 3200-4000mAh battery. This perfectly engineered power system produces excellent top speed — up to 100+ MPH in level flight — and unlimited vertical performance while also delivering class-leading flight times. The separate BEC and nine factory-installed digital servos with ball-link equipped linkages deliver precise and reliable control. A long list of functional features includes LED navigation lights, operational flaps, twin rudders and electric retracts with shock-absorbing struts so you can fly from a variety of surfaces, including grass fields. And details including removable ordnance, molded in panel lines, a cockpit with pilot figure and more add to the incredible scale looks. Plus it arrives factory-finished in the rare "Flipper" three-tone gray camouflage trim scheme that looks great on the ground and in the air. And it all adds up to deliver a "Hog" that's practically sized so it's easier to store and transport while also offering an unmatched flying experience you'll enjoy flight after flight!

I have ordered a few different planes now from HobbyZone and the quality has always been great. There was a mix up with my last order, and I received the wrong model by mistake. It was a true test of customerservice. I was presently surprised with how responsive and apologetic they were  for the mistake,  and within a few days (Dan) and his staff sent me a shipping label, and I sent the incorrect model back, and they (HZ) sent me the model I ordered without any hassles. My son and I  will continue to use Hobby Zone!

    A10 review

This A10 Thunderbolt 64 mm by Efliight is really a work of art. A fantastic rc edf to fly. So far I’ve only had a few flights, but this would be my 3rd edf jet. When it comes to flight this bird is just so maneuverable ( big ol  fat wings) However, I definitely would not recommend this bird as a first edf. The A10 is a bit heavy (I fly it with a 3500 6’s all the way back) and she’s got a little heft going on, which I think gives her that bit of inertia/scoot in the air, and you actually better be a really good lander. I read tons of threads before buying the model about every other pilot busting the nose pins with the landing gear, and really made sure my flares were dialed practicing with my VIPER and F15.  And although the landing gear system is fairly stout at best, you have to bring this model in on an almost perfect, flair landing on the mains first for a smooth landing. Coming in hot and hard and you might bust the nose gear (seen it happen on other planes) and read about a lot of pilots having problems with the nose gear in the A10 thread. Grass ops I’m not so sure, I fly off concrete or dirt, but to fly off grass must be practically putting green in my opinion. It’s funny how you need perfect grass for a lot of planes, but not just any field will be suitable for a model. All being said, this A10 is probably my favorite edf jet in my collection, and will fly it with a lot of attention to approaching and landing, but man it just frikn rips in the air (it flys like my p51 with jets!) 4 out of 5 all around ?? If your building an edf fleet, get this.
