Like the original Vapor® aircraft, the Night Vapor™model is slow enough and light enough to fly in a living room, a basement or even the conference room at work. To this amazing slow flight performance, it adds the fun of LED lights that allow you to fly in the dark. It also features a new modular design that makes replacement of broken parts quicker and easier. Best of all, you can have the Night Vapor BNF flying in as little time as it takes you to charge its battery and bind it to a DSM2® aircraft transmitter (sold separately).
I bought this plane and also purchased 3 160mah batteries. With the bigger batteries I easily get 23 minutes of flight time. It flies slow and smooth no trimming was needed. It also looks very cool at night! I had my wife flying it decent in about 10 minutes and she had no idea how to do it! I was cruising it around all my trees and parked cars so easy! This is a must have in your hanger. Take the stock battery that comes with it and chuck it. Once you have flown it with the 160mah battery you'll never waste time charging the little stock one.
Now that autumn is upon us, I only get about 30-40 minutes of daylight after work. I grabbed this so I could still get out in the yard when my fingers are itching for the controls. The Night Vapor flew great out of the box with minimal trimming.
It was windy when I got home, so I maidened it inside. I banged it off the walls and furniture the first evening with no ill effects until the wind died down, and I took it for a stroll in the backyard. I have zero complaints about this plane: nice, slow, relaxing, and simply fun.
When it is floating towards me in the pitch dark, I have visions from the movie "The Abyss," which is a bonus in itself.
You have got to love the Parkzone Night Vapor. It is a very lightweight and easy to fly design. It will make an excellent first plane for a beginner with limited time on a flight simulator. If you slide the battery back on the bar you can fly at ultra slow speeds, but if you slide it forward, you can easily climb and do basic backflips and other simple acrobatics. It is one of the best 3 channels ever. That is, other than the famous Hobbyzone Champ which is the best plane ever. The Night Vapor is great for night flying and day flying in low wind conditions. I strongly recommend this plane or, if you have slightly more room to fly, the Champ.
I had recently received the Champ for Christmas. The Champ is an okay trainer, but since it’s made of foam and needs a large area to fly, it can break easily if crashed. I then, after many repairs and breaks, I wanted something better. In my eyes, the Mini Vapor was the one! Hobby Zone was having a sale on the mini's so I brought $100 along. The man working showed me the Mini Vapor flying and then told me the Night Vapor was more forgiving to winds and crashes. The RTF version was about $120. I didn’t have enough money, so I asked him if the radio that comes with the Champ can be binded to the Vapor, and yes It can! He even showed me what other models can be binded with the simple 4 channel radio that comes with the Champ. Next I’m getting the GeeBee.
When I brought it to my school gym, I binded it and gave it full throttle and about a quarter up elevator. It just took off and in less than 15 seconds, the Night Vapor was at the ceiling's highest altitude (about 60 feet). I then gave it half throttle and no elevator, which caused it to go into a very slow negative angle to the ground since the weight was put all the way up front. It flew dreamily! I would highly recommend it to anyone that is a beginner that wants to train. When it crashes, it bounces and is very durable. It will always, unless you try not to, look like it came just out of the box!
The Night Vapor is a lot of fun to fly, but it is very fragile. I have had it for 2 months and have replaced one landing gear leg, 4 prop shafts (they break very easily at the groove just behind the prop), one gear box, 4 props, the battery, and one motor. The plane does not seem to have adequate power after all these changes. This is not a cheap sport. After reading other reviews, maybe I'm not cut out to be a pilot of this thing. Sorry I can't give it a better rating.
