Right to the good stuff. This plane was a super easy build. Has a great size. Good Lipo system with a Lipo battery. And HANDLES GREAT!!!
I took this to a very popular flying field in my area with a lot of the big timers who have been there for years. I was guys who have been there for 40+ years. And their honest opinion is, Where did ya get it? This plane is Great! How much did it cost? This plane handles In all conditions. So my overall review from reviews I've seen, to online reviews, to even my own review this is a great plane to have no doubt.
I researched several RTF planes via an internet search over several months and kept coming back to the Switch as my first R/C plane. The very positive You Tube videos, reviews and two-for-one value were hard to ignore. Since purchasing the Switch in July, I have had at least 25 successful cycles and no regrets. My neighbor (an AMA competitor and my informal instructor) keeps calling this thing a "hot rod" and the best RTF product he's seen in years. The flight characteristics are docile and forgiving to a degree while offering performance beyond what the beginner will need for a while. I love this plane and hope to keep it in my hanger for years to come.
A couple of minor issues to share... the SuperTigre 1800mAh battery that came with the plane encountered an error on the charger and HobbyZone quickly shipped me another battery after I made them aware. Also, the special offer battery (2200mAh @ $19.95) had connectors that would not work with the connectors in the plane or the charger. Again, HobbyZone send me the necessary adapters to make this work. BUT...with all this said, I have had so much fun with this plane during the few weeks I've been flying that I would recommend it as a first plane for anyone! I can't wait to switch to the sport wing configuration!!
If I might add...I did purchase the Great Planes basic flight simulator a couple of months prior to my purchase. The time spent on the sim has been priceless! My landing approach, dead stick recoveries and overall flight skills have translated very well from the virtual world to the real world...money well spent.
But this RTF from HobbyZone...you won't regret it!
This plane is great. I would buy it again. It's great for the pilot going from micro to a nice size park flyer. This will do anything you want it to do; I got it to hover. The wheel pants aren't the best, but with a little molding, they are great.
