The Piper PA-18 Super Cub is a two-seat, single engine aircraft designed by the Piper Aircraft Company. First introduced in 1949, Super Cubs rugged construction, impressive payload and marvelous short-field performance quickly made it a mainstay of the bush flying fleet.
Like its full-sized counterpart, the FMS PA-18 Super Cub has excellent handling at low speeds and wide performance. FMS selected an attractive, scale-inspired silver, white and black paint scheme to make this all-time-classic stand out from the crowd. Components such as LED lights, large tundra tires, and functional flaps are replicated with authentic detail. Flying off water couldn’t be any easier with the included float set with water rudder. The factory installed 4S compatible power system combine with the functional flaps delivers STOL performance from smooth or rough terrain. For pilots looking for an easy-to-fly, scale aircraft with gentle trainer-like flight characteristics, plenty of power and an unmistakable golden-age appearance—the FMS PA-18 Super Cub 1700mm is all that, and more.
Great plane. Flying RC since 1995. I like everything about it except the power. Its sold as a super cub. More power by virtue of a faster larger motor would make it everything its designed to be. 4S lipo is appropriate for this size and provides for 3D style flying. But its not "super". Most selections for a larger faster motor and 6S power would do it. Of course the price would go up ...I would anticipate $399 rather than $299...this is typical in RC sales. Good plane and a safe bet for any level flyer.
this company works very hard make a customer happy very good product very good price very friendly people
Twenty minute assembly time and predictable flying characteristics makes this one of the BEST bush-style plane I've ever owned. Only fly in the ointment is the rudder hinges are a bit weak but once that issue was fixed a very happy so-far-so-good pilot I am!
With only one tiny issue, this is the best bush plane I've owned to date. The only issue - easily fixed -is a weak rudder hinge. After that was repaired this plane is absolutely killer - highly recommend!
I’ve only been in the sport for about a year. I started flying a 60 size superstar. Nice plane but I wasn’t very good with it. Two planes later I purchased this PA-18, it has been a pleasure to fly and am getting ready to test for my license in two weeks.
The PA-18 Super Cub was easy to assemble, about 20 minutes. I was able install and bind in another 20 minutes to my Futaba system, my first time trying this.
It’s maiden flight was uneventful, as you want these things to go. I was able to solo take off and land on the third battery for the first time.
This is a great beginner plane, as I can attest. But I also believe this plane has plenty of room to grow into. I’ve seen several members of our club doing all sort of 3D maneuvers with this plane. I’m very happy with this purchase!
I like the fact that this is a scale flier. I like scale planes that are flown scale. It takes off scale and lands as slow as a real PA-18 landing on a sand bar. I didn't buy it to do aerobatics. I bought it to fly like a real PA-18 so the non-pilot can't tell it from a real plane. This plane has plenty of power on a 4S 3000mah and it flies beautifully! Softer tires for concrete would be appreciated, however these tires do great on grass. I recommend.
