With classic lines from the golden age of flight, the Arrows 1100mm J3 is a scale aircraft with predictable trainer-like flight characteristics. True to its full scale counterpart, the 1100mm J3's high-lift wing design allows for excellent slow speed and STOL (short takeoff and landing) capabilities.
Details such as a scale two-bladed propeller, wing struts, engine and landing gear components, make the J3 look just like the real aircraft even upon closer inspection.
The simple, screw-together design allow pilots to spend more time flying and less time building.
Whther you're looking for a fun weekend flyer or a perfect scale trainer, the Arrows J3 is not to be missed!
She handles like a typical J3. Ran her on 1300 2s and 1000 2s and got 6 minute flights running flat out. Programmed with dual rates 65/100. High rates for hand toss is best. She has great scale detail and will do rolls and loops no problem. I added bush wheels just for the looks.
ordered this foamie and it arrived after 4 days. smaller than I thought it would be. set up was fast and easy, just put on the cowling, attached the prop and screw on the wing and tail surfaces (with bracings). went to the local hobby store and bought 2 lipo batteries, (flight time is about 15 min) and a spare prop just in case. take off on a paved rc club runway, right away the prop grazes the asphalt so just pull up and it flies fine at 3/4 throttle. it is a small high wing scale model so it will get squirrely if u try any acrobatics. you can cut throttle and stay aloft if you're high enough and there is some updraft around, which is cool. a folding prop could be a good possibility for a little gliding. I haven't tried throwing take off. landing is easy, but one of the landing gears tends to stick so I just put it down without taxi. I like this little plane, for what it is--a park flyer scale cub with realistic level of detail. the gear bracings came off and I don't seem to miss them.
Upon receiving it was packaged great but the paint on the wing was bubbled in some spots not many, they said it was normal ok sure, then the elevator halves didnt move evenly poor locking design flew it anyway and it cause some unwanted flight characteristics so landed it upon landing nosed over in the grass and the plastic motor support broke, ordered another same thing again on landing going to have to make something else something that doesnt break.
