This is a great bush plane, from taking off in tall grass to bouncing through the bad landings. This plane is one great kit. It goes together easily and is a great match with the fun cub power kit. I have 2 flights on this plane. On one, I took off from the top of a folding table with no problem. But this plane is really slow. Even with no flaps it just cruises along with its big prop. The only thing I wish is that the plane was faster. It has plenty of power; it’s just slow.
This is a great plane to outfit with floats. With the Fun Cub Power Pack and optional floats, the plane is a dream to take off and land on water. The huge flaps help tremendously with short take offs and slow landings. Helpful to add a little aileron/rudder mixing to counter a little "yaw" when turning. Great for beginners and intermediates alike.
One of the best flying planes I’ve owned. But after approximately 50 flights, something has happened. The plane has suddenly become uncontrollable. All controls checked, CG checked, servos checked, ESC changed. I wonder if it could be all of the wiring and battery in close proximity to the receivers located under the center of the wing. I am planning on changing out the receivers next. Would like the great flying plane back.
Has anyone experienced these type of problems?
I've flown my Fun Cub approximately 10 times and I've had a problem with the motor mounts. At full throttle, I have a severe vibration that actually knocks off the canopy cover and once even broke the motor mounts loose. I went to my local hobby shop and asked an employee what is wrong and he told me that he has a friend with exactly the same problem. Is there a cure? I really like the plane and it flies great even though I can't go above 3/4 throttle. I'm using a 400 watt motor, 45 amp ESC and 13 X 6.5 propeller.
