This thing looks great and flies great too! Durations are a little short with the floats on due to parasitic drag, but it gets you off the snow or the water. Stable flyer, not prone to too much in the way of aerobatics, but will perform loops, Immelman, Split-S, rolls, et al, even with floats, but it obviously doesn't like to be inverted with those floats on. :>)
I have built many planes, and this one was a pleasure to build. The manual was very easy to follow. I am very impressed with the scale detail and the design of the enclosed control rods. Great job gang. I will follow with another review when I get it on the water and fly the plane. Can't wait!
This review is strictly from my impressions of the un-boxing of the plane as I haven't flown it yet. I got this plane because it matched my Aqaucraft Revolt boat and was on sale and a good deal for the price compared to what you get in the box. But biggest complaint is how Hobbico packs their products and the little details they miss. Granted I know these planes are mass produced and pumped out of the factory. As with every other Hobbico product I have got their packaging of product isn't the greatest. They do wrap all the contents well but nothing is taped down in the box or secured with foam so everything kind of bounces around in the box until you get it home, which does help if it's shipping from across the country. They use the size of the box and the order in which they pack the box to keep thing from moving to much. This leads to things moving around and putting dents in the foam which my plane had quite a few of. I know it shouldn't matter since I will eventually wind up banging the plane up myself but I'm weird and like my stuff in perfect condition when I first get them. As far as the details go there is excess glue in quite a few spots from mass producing. The beacon light is loose, most likely from pieces hitting it during shipping . The tail light is off center a bit. The decals which the plane has a lot of aren't quite straight and in some places not applied fully in some places (I had this same issue with my Revolt). There is some paint missing and scratches in places that probably happened during assembly. Like I said all of this is from it being mass produced and how fast these planes are probably put together. I'm sure the plane will fly well once I get it together. Other than the things I listed above I like the plane and I'm sure I will enjoy flying it. If these things don't bother you then by all means get one and you will be glad you did.
