My dad actually gave me this plane already built. It is a nice flying plane and a great model for a first low wing flyer. I eventually swapped out the 480 motor for a Power 10 to give it a little more power, and it mounted right up with no problems. I enjoy flying this plane since it is easy to do many pattern maneuvers, and it gets a lot of second looks at the field.
I just completed the initial flight testing. I like this plane more with each flight. I am a big fan of E-flite ARF's, always finding them to be of good quality and appearance. This kit went together well with only a few hardware issues. My main comment is that this plane is seriously underpowered using only a 480 power setup. To be fair, I was not using the recommended Park 480 by E-flite but the Parkzone 480 setup from my T-28 Trojan. The plane flew but was very sluggish requiring full power continually. After only four flights I installed an E-flite Power 15, 40 Amp ESC, and 2200mAh 3S battery I had reserved for another project. The plane came alive. Normal flight is at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle with plenty of reserve for aerobatics and getting out of trouble. The motor bolted directly to the firewall (just eliminate the spacers required by the 480) with no alteration. Move the battery back to the wing tube, and CG will be just right. Happy Flying!
