TB6AC + 80W 8A Intelligent Digital Balance Charger
For years pilots have been asking us to recommend a good charger to upgrade from those that came with their planes. Requirements normally include:
Fast AC/DC charging
Easy programming: something an adult can do without having to call a nine year old over for tech help.
Must have LCD screen with meaningful readouts of what is going on. The red and green lights and beeping of beginner chargers is more annoying than informative.
Must be tough and reliable. We drop things and hate sending them in for repair, and throwing them away even more.
Inexpensive, but not cheap. We know that behind a pretty face can be bad solder joints.
For at least the past five years we used the Tenergy TB6 in our store and personally. We sold them with confidence for $79.99 and they solved the charging problem for a lot of pilots. Now we have the latest version, the T6AC. It has 8amp power compared to the old 5amp, and the power supply is built in. It weighs about a pound, big enough to not lost or get blown away in a wind, but small enough to store easily. These are only $49.99 and will be the only charger you will need until you are flying electric planes over at least 10lbs.
The "octapus" connector that comes with it will connect to EC3 (Hobbyzone,Parkzone,Blade,E-flite), or JST (small red end)
Tamiya, miniTamiya, HRC, and Deans,(Multiplex, new Flyzone). Other adapters are available for or can be made.
